Aconbury

News

The first summer off-road race, at Aconbury, saw 122 runners running on a fine summer’s evening around a fast, almost dry course. Eliot Taylor won, after Andrew had led early on. He eventually finished a very creditable 7th, with Mark (9th) and Glyn (15th) completing the men’s part of the A team, and Sue (39.07) ran superbly to finish first lady, holding off a line of runners including the 2nd and 3rd ladies. Thus the A team were 2nd, just adrift of Wye Valley. Gary seems to be still improving (50th, 40.21), and Tom too had a good run. Gemma showed the strength she has developed in her legs as second lady, with Irina on her return to racing close behind. We fielded 4 teams on the night, with not enough men for a 5th.
