Boxing Day Challenge

News

Yet again we offer you the opportunity to salve your conscience (guilty of the previous day’s excesses) and burn off the extra calories, by running at Croft Castle on Boxing Day. The race starts at 11am, and will be run over a shorter route than normal, to avoid the horrendous mud over the Ambrey itself.

In order for us to be able to know if we’ve lost anyone in the woods, you’ll be asked to ‘register’ at the start with a club representative who will allocate you a number to be written on your hand or wrist in marker pen. That number will be the only identification needed at the finish. The course will be marked with small yellow plastic flags, so getting lost is not an option this year!

Any visiting family members, and friends too, are welcome. It is a none too serious opportunity to get out for a run, and maybe beat Lucton School at the same time.

Anybody who would like to help by marshalling (to reduce the minimal risk of losing runners, and to encourage those on their last legs, having set off at a pace they might have managed 30 years ago), please contact Bryan Markham (01568 708281, or [email protected]).
