Caradoc Classic

News

The second of the summer series of Shropshire Fell races saw 120 runners (including some very fast youngsters) set off along the steady run to the base of Caradoc, before the steep climb (at which point Gary took Tom’s preferred route, up the ‘down’ course, thought to be more runnable) to the summit. Richard, claiming to be unprepared for a fell run, was a distant pale blue speck, while Gary emerged from his detour having possibly gained no advantage, but he made up for that with a lightning descent. Steve Cale won in 22.59, Richard finished 51st (30.04), Gary (1st over 65) was 60th (30.43), Guy 2nd MV65 (32.36), Tom (2nd MV60, 34.29) held off Nicky (2nd FV50, 34.56).
