Duathlon – Bryan

News

A beautiful summer evening and a group of athletes more resembling the Tour de France than Corft Ambrey Running Club. Every form of cycling sophistication, colourful clothing, rippling muscles (Tom being the exception on his mountain bike [Tom surely doesn’t lack colourful clothing, sophistication and rippling muscles? -Ed]) the ‘peloton’ hurtled ever onwards.

Locals were amazed – reports are still coming back to me.

Young Dave and Dan paced each other from the off. John briefly emerged to challenge with the fastest bike ride but young Dave’s overall capability on both bike and run saw him come home a comfortable winner defending his title like a true champion.

We may have to think about changing the course next year as the level of competition by both man and machine makes parts of the course slightly dangerous, not least to people coming the other way!
