The 4th round of the South Wales series saw Gary and Tom making the long trip to Caerphilly unfortunately the race start was 6pm on the eve of the Soap Box Spectacular! The 6 mile route covering trails and open hillside above Bedwas was wet and muddy following the recent rainfall but this did not prevent Gary from completing in 40th place, 3rd o/60 in 57:19. Tom finished 60th o/all 5th o/60 in 62:58. Just to depress existing and imminent Croft over 60’s, Steve Littlewood (of a similar standard to Steve Herington) appears to be making a return to the fray and finished 2nd o/60 just 5 seconds behind the legendary Steve H! Sean Taylor won in 43:29 , 1st Lady was Emma Bayliss in 52:39, there were75 finishers.
