Ironbridge Half Marathon

News

Following its postponement from its original date because of snow, Telford Harrier’s multi terrain Half Marathon took place 1 week later than planned, although the wintery deluge was still very much in evidence on parts of the route which deviated slightly here and there to avoid the ice, snow and fallen tree branches, the route was otherwise very similar to that used in previous years.

I decided to take on this challenge as part of my preparation for the forthcoming London Marathon, being only 3 weeks prior to the big day I decided that I would treat it as a training run as opposed to a race and came away with the best time I have recorded over the course in 3 attempts, finishing 109th in 1:47:24 (chip time) out of 280 who finished the hastily rearranged event.

Actually after braving the Rhayader 20 miles this was a dawdle!
