Ludlow 12K

News

As part of Ludlow’s new ‘Fitfest’ festival the Ludlow 12k attracted a large entry of nearly 230 starters to a brand new 12 k road race that started and finished in Ludlow Castle and followed an undulating course around county lanes and local roads. Although forecast, the expected heavy rain held off until later in the day which curtailed some of the planned attractions but at least the road race was held in dry conditions.

Seven Croft runners took up the challenge and all achieved good performances. Simon was first Croft runner home, to finish 5th overall in a blistering 49:46, Rob was next up completing the course in 53:18 to finish a very creditable 14th, Sue D romped home in 55:30 to claim 30th spot as well as finishing 3rd female and winning her age category, Martin finished 33rd in 55:42. Neil T recorded 57:36 to claim 40th spot whilst Adam must have been well pleased with 1:00:05 to finish 45th, Ruth was next to finish in 50th position in a time of 1:00:15 and finally I limped home a distant 72nd in 1:03:31, but I still had over 150 finishers behind me.

It seems that this is likely to be an annual feature in Ludlow’s calendar so hopefully the race will attract an even larger entry to raise money for The Severn Hospice this time next year. Full results from: www.chiptiming.co.uk/pdf/ludlow12k.pdf
