The course was marginally better than Monkhall, despite 4 stream fordings and numerous muddy paths/rivulets to climb up and down, but above all the sun shone! I’m sure the ladies didn’t need that though to ensure their great team victory: Sue led the way in 3rd, despite a cold, Nicky again had a storming run, and Sam and Jo fought all the way enabling the team to finish 2nd to the Tri club on the day, but first overall. Rachel and Sue P helped push other teams further back down the order. The men didn’t fare quite so well, but Stacey, running in conditions not at all to his liking especially after his foot operation, finished a commendable 5th, with Simon (10th) running strongly. Dave G and Glyn completed the A team, which secured a 3rd overall place (out of 20 teams). Martin had a good run, as did Sam Mayglothling running in his first race for the club. Mick and Ben were close behind. Ashley and the two Pauls also fared very well in the conditions. Frank held off Neil T, and Tom and I brought up the rear.
The individual awards saw a heavy sprinkling of Crofters: Sam H 2nd FV35, Sue D 1st FV45, Jo 2nd FV45. Toby 1st under 17, Stacey 1st MV40, and Dave G 3rd, Martin 2nd MV45, a clean sweep in the MV55: Mick, Frank and NeilT, Ashley R 3rd MV60, and Tom 2nd MV65. Very well done to all!
