Summer off-road – Race 2 (Kinnersley)

News

A record 28 Croft runners turned out, with a field of 145 runners on a wet evening in Kinnersley orchards. Mike was ably supported by Kim, Paul, Rachel, Catherine, Elaine and Brian L in setting out the course and marshalling on the night. Stacey was beaten into 2nd place by young Tim Lefroy, on a short return visit to the UK, but remains firmly in the lead in the series. Neil P, Dave A and Gavin all had storming runs, giving Croft 4 finishers in the top 11. Dan and Mark (17th/18th) were quickly followed by a revived Ashley (23rd) and Stuart (25th). Gemma (37th), improving all the time, managed to overhaul Sue (44th), who between them helped Croft into 1st and 3rd positions on the night. Kevin Thomas had a great first run for the club, just behind Sue (sensibly giving her the extra point). Suzanne was 3rd Croft lady, leading the C team to 7th place overall, just ahead of Gary (1st over 65). Jonathon Smith (74th) and Larry Turner (83rd) ran well in their first race in club colours, as did Sam, who left nearly 30 runners in her wake. Full results on Results page.
