British Maasters Cross Country championsips – Rhug Estate, Corwen

Two Crofties headed north on Saturday to take part in the Master races at Corwen, it was being held on the Rhug estate home of the infamous Bison burger.

 The course (3 x a  small field and 2 large field laps for the 6km and 3 large field laps for the 8km)was over farmland fields that included hills, mud and a stream crossing each lap. It was a 6km distance for the women and men over 65 and a 8 Km distance for men 35 – 64.

 Fortunately the rain stayed off however, the wind was fierce making the running even harder.

 This Master race attracted people from as far afield as Northern Ireland, Scotland and Devon and the front end of each race was fiercely competitive.

Taking a more mid pack approach, Sue D 30.53 for the 6k and Mark P 42.43 for his 8k effort (NB Sue was 4th F55)
