Croft Woods Handicap – race 5

Race Reports
Meteoric Mark was again the star turn in the penultimate race in the 2015 Croft Handicap series as he whizzed around the woodland route to break his own course record by 19 seconds. No energy sapping exertions for him this time in preparation for this run – just a “gentle” bike ride from Leominster to Croft Castle. Oh, to be young and energetic again – I get knackered just looking at my bike. Any club members out there ready to challenge him in the final race of the series ?
6 P.B.s in total with the underfoot conditions far superior to last month’s mudfest. Huge improvements from Richard and Mossy after both crawled around last month. All that is needed now is for Mossy to arrive before his appointed start time to feature in his proper finishing position and possibly earn a choccie prize.
El Presidente Markham continues to impress with another staggering (almost literally) performance as the oldest club member. The unfortunate by-product of his improvement is that my cherished span of peace and quiet is being seriously curtailed. Maybe in his bewilderment he will take a wrong turn next month.
It was a welcome back to 3 of the club’s wounded warriors as Sue P., Patrick and Sam M. successfully returned to competitive running with no ill effects.
The 6th and final race in this season’s handicap races will be held on Tuesday 8th September. With the nights drawing in at that time of year please try to arrive at the start in good time. It would also be helpful to let me know in advance if you have not been running in this year’s series but plan to do so for this last race. Thanks.

  1. I’m not here for the last one I’m afraid. Down in Tenby ready for the biggy! Have fun though all.
