The Royal Welsh Spring Show held their first Trail Running Festival alongside the show last weekend, which was run in partnership with Welsh Athletics.
Sam and I set off on Sunday morning for the festival, which offered 3km, 10km and half marathon distances. Having arrived, found where to go and registered we bumped into another Crofty, Sue Davies.
Sue and I ‘tackled’ the 10k, which was a mixture of terrain with beautiful scenery. Sue finished a very respectable 37th out of 158 and I just over 4 minutes behind in 58th place. The course provided great scenery and a huge bonus of the last mile all being downhill!! Makes a change.
Sam, who I did not envy, had to complete 2 laps of the 10k round and run round an additional field to make the 13.1 miles. But still this did not phase him, completing the run in 89.54, gaining him a respectable 3rd place (with some slightly sore calves to follow).
Brilliant festival, which we would highly recommend to you all next year!
