Telford half marathon

Race Reports

Jasper & I did a half marathon today In Telford. Originally we were going to be doing it next Sunday but the organisers gave us the option of doing it today because of the impending lockdown. The course was out and back along the old railway track next to the River Severn, starting near Coalport bridge. Consequently, it was pretty flat but the track was a bit rough in places. There were also several people doing a full marathon, including one chap doing his 200th. It was pretty cold but sunny, which highlighted the sheer picturesque beauty of the place. I was just about satisfied by finishing in 1h 47, but the star of the day was Jasper, who celebrated his 20th birthday by knocking 10 minutes off his previous PB, crossing the line in 1h 24m 44 sec.  He also set a 10k PB in the first half of the race, sub 40. A good day out! Finishing photo later
