Bircher Common Winter Time Trial

Thank you and well done to everyone who turned out for the club time-trial, and for
all being so enthusiastic. We had a glorious morning for it, even if a bit breezy.

The course was over 7.2 Km with 184m of climbing, with the second of the two climbs being fairly testing. The wind across the top of the common also helping to make this a tough course.

To keep with current guidelines, there was staggard start times with one minute intervals between pairs of runners, which made it difficult to determine positions in the race, but kept it competitive. The route avoided any narrow paths and overtaking could be done with lots of room to maintain the social distancing!

It was wonderful to see such a wide range of ages taking part, from 19 to over 80 and all performing really well.

So good to be out running in a friendly, yet competitive way, lets hope we manage to get all of our time trials in over this coming, unpredictalbe winter.
