Fell races Race Reports
Four Croft runners took part in this excellent 2.9 mile fell race over the Callow. The  race was also the final round of the Shropshire summer series  with several runners still chasing series awards.
The evening was perfect for running with a cooling breeze and dry underfoot for the 2 steep climbs and descents. Gary Pearson finished 32nd overall in 36.14, his 3rd  in the o/45 category sealing 1st o/45 in the series. Tim Jones, still carrying an ankle injury, finished 65th in 42.03  followed by Gary Gunner 75th overall and 1st o/70 in 44.01. Gary had already won the o/70 category in the series by his efforts in earlier races. Tom Davies followed  a distant 101st in 55.04.
The race was won by David Connolly of Mercia in 26.23 with Sara Willholt also of Mercia taking the ladies award finishing 6th overall in 29.45. There were 107 finishers.
