The 5th round in the Shropshire Hills Summer Series was held the evening after the Croft Handicap and weather conditions could not have been more different with warm sunshine and excellent views replacing the wet and cold of Croft.
Just 3 Croft runners took part in the race, starting and finishing at the Stiperstones Inn and covering 3.2 miles of steep, narrow climbs and also fast open tracks. GaryP finishing 24th, 4th mv45 in 33.56. GaryG 68th, 1st mv65 in 41.37. TomD 80th, 2nd mv65 in 44.49. The race was won by Dominic Jones in 28.34 and Mel Price was 1st lady, 8th overall in 31.19, there were 91 finishers.
